For under $150 this is a true multifunction printer which performs not only text and photo prints but can also scan, read flash memory cards, connect wirelessly either with WiFi, Bluetooth or a even a cell phone. TheMP620 holds 150 sheets in the input tray, which is located below the printer and a second tray is available at the back of the printer. The second tray can be used to load glossy photo sheets or more paper.

The output tray is quite a show and will open automatically upon printing.
The warm up time is minimal – the MP620 can start printing seconds after it’s switched on. However it sometimes performs a head clean automatically, though this done only when needed and not on every print.

The MP620 control display is in the form of a 2.5inch colour LCD touch screen which is hidden out of view under a flip panel on top of the printer. The touch screen is complimented with buttons directly below the screen. The main buttons are two function buttons and below them is a four way navigator with an OK push button which has a scroll wheel around it.The scroll wheel can be accidently used when using the four way navigator, as they are so close together. This can be annoying, but soon get used to it and have to be more careful.

There is two copy buttons which allows the user to either increase or decrease the number of copies which are needed. At first glance the buttons seem to be a bit overwhelming, but after using them they are appreciated and make tasks much easier to complete.
The card reader is hidden away behind a plastic flap, which can be a little difficult to get too if you have big hands – but it can be done.

The scanner on this model is quite impressive, in fact the copy was better than the original. In this case I copied a green slip, which was - well a carbon copy. The writing was hard to read, and not very legible. Though after passing it through the scanner it made the text really stand out, and basically dropped the background. Quite impressive!

As for scanning photos, again we where very impressed. The skin tones were an exact match, the people’s hair and eye lashes where of perfect contrast and all with remarkable clarity.
Ok so it scans great – what about the prints? With one-picoliter droplets and 9600x2400 dpi, the MP620 makes exceptional prints from four dye inks: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The colour prints are very nicely rendered, natural looking and clear.

As expected the text prints where again exceptional with crisp smooth characters with perfect sharp rounding and no signs of jagged edges when inspected under a 5x magnifier even with the more complicated fonts.
Speed wise this machine produces 7.6ppm of plain text and 2.2ppm with photos or complex graphics.
